Jakarta – The Jokowi Administration has set up four new task forces to expedite the ongoing deregulation process started last September designed to stimulate the economy and encourage FDI. “We should not postpone it further,” Chief Economics Minister Darmin Nasution said in a statement.”
One task force is responsible for making sure these regulations will be finished as soon as possible, another task force is responsible for identifying problems and cases, another is to evaluate its implementation and the policy packages’ impact to the society and the last one is responsible for publicity. Deregulation packages released so far have addressed lag jams through out the Indonesian economy ranging from business permits, tax incentives, technical matters, etc. A 13th policy package, rumored to be released shortly, will focus on low income housing.
